Kiln Drying Service

The cost for kiln drying service varies by species, thickness, and starting moisture content.  For example, air dried pine (13%-15%) takes about a week to kiln dry down to 7-8% moisture content. 2" thick maple slabs at 30% moisture content can take up to six weeks or more.

The kiln capacity is approximately 600 board feet when loaded with 1" x 12.5' lumber. I typically charge 40 cents a board foot per week.
